Saturday 23rd September

This was an excellent day for the tramway and a brilliant sunny and warm day with a total of 39 cars used during the day. The Fleetwood service started off with 709, 711, 713, 718, 719, 723, 724 and Cleveleys started as 701, 703, 721, 722 and 726. A number of trams appeared on specials during the morning and early afternoon including 700, 706, 710, 66 and 622.

I got a run along the prom on the top deck of 706, this was my first time on this tram and it was a good experience. Later in the afternoon boats 600, 602 and 604 appeared, luckily I got into the right place at the right time for some good photos of 604, I was actually running down the prom to try and get a photo of 680 which was returning to depot. I realised I wasnt going to catch it so I ran up the Foxhall to the depot and got there just in time to see it dissappear up one of the depot roads, however 604 was being trollied out of the depot so I got a photo of it and also 622 going back into the depot. Into the evening and all 8 centenary cars appeared on specials and 671+681, 674+684 and 700 took the place of 723, 713 and 711 on service. whilst they went onto specials, 678 also appeared on specials. 633, 736 and 660 did the illumination tours. 660 also did a late evening special to Cleveleys. Also 754 was noted out twice heading north towards Fleetwood.

Sunday 24th September

Following yesterdays excellent turnout of trams, I was hopeful for another good day, but no today was trully awful from the point of view of the tramway. The Fleetwood service started with 700, 709, 713, 718, 719, 723 and 724. The Cleveleys service was 701, 721, 726, 710 and 762. Morning specials were 671+681, 643, 644, 645 and 647. The tram way was quiet in the morning as it was pouring with rain, but as the sun came out and the rain stopped, the service became a mess, service trams were running late and at one point 40 minutes worth of trams passed together in 3 minutes. As the afternoon wore on 703 came out on specials along with 646, 648 and 678. There was a 40 minute gap heading north for Fleetwood Ferry with 1 tram turning at Thornton Gate and another for Ash street. into the evening and things still hadnt improved with Cleveleys cars well out of sequence and the trams all busy, 762 was turned at Pleasure beach and many other service trams ran out of sequence. 736 ran a total of 2 tours and left at least 20 people (including me) at North Pier. by 10 oclock the prom was deserted, and 703 had took over from 721 on the Cleveleys service.
